HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AS A STRATEGY OF INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY IN NIGERIA (AS A STUDY OF NDOKWA WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL, KWALE, DELTA STATE)
Abstract
This study examines human capital development as a strategy for increasing productivity in Nigeria, focusing on Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Kwale, Delta State. Findings indicate a long-run relationship between human capital development and economic growth, with education and health expenditure having positive impacts. However, challenges like underfunding, corruption, and inadequate infrastructure hinder human capital development. Recommendations include prioritizing education and health, increasing budgetary allocations, and implementing effective policies to enhance human capital development.
