AN INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL GAME FOR ENHANCING MATHEMATICAL SKILLS THROUGH GAMIFICATION
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and development of Math Warrior, a gamified mobile application aimed at improving the mathematics performance of junior-level students through interactive learning. The traditional approach to teaching mathematics often lacks engagement, resulting in low academic performance and disinterest among learners. Math Warrior addresses this gap by integrating gamification principles including levels, badges, scores, and progress tracking-into a user-friendly educational game that reinforces key math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
The application was developed using React Native for cross-platform compatibility. The Agile methodology guided the development process, enabling iterative design, continuous feedback, and user-centered improvements. Wireframes and UI/UX designs were prototyped using Figma to ensure accessibility and engagement for younger users.
A thorough system analysis was conducted to define functional and non-functional requirements, followed by an implementation phase where core modules including game logic, quiz generation, and admin management were developed. The system underwent unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, showing high engagement levels, rapid app performance, and improved user accuracy in math challenges.
In conclusion, Math Warrior successfully demonstrates the potential of gamified learning tools in enhancing academic motivation and performance. The project contributes a scalable model for educational game design and recommends future improvements such as multilingual support, expansion to iOS, and integration of more advanced mathematical topics.
