Abstract

This study examines the financial performance and efficiency of first bank plc, Asaba Delta State using financial statement analysis. The aim is to assess the bank financial health, profitability, and operational efficiency over a specified period ratio analysis and trend analysis were employed to evaluate the banks financial statement. The results show that first bank Plc, Asaba Delta State has maintained a satisfactory level of financial improvements in profitability and asset quality. However, areas for improvement were identified, including reducing non-performing loans and enhancing capital adequacy. This study provides valuable insights for bank management, investors, and regulatory bodies, highlighting the importance of financial statement analysis in evaluating bank performance and efficiency.
