IMPACT OF LCT RESOURCES ON SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT’S ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN PHYSICS IN SOKOIO METROPOLIS, SOKOTO STATE NIGERIA
Abstract
This research investigates the impact of ICT resources on senior school student s performance in physics in Sokoto metropolis. In undertaking this research a sample of one hundred and fifty (150) Questionnaires were distributed to selected senior school students of which 150 copies of the questionnaire were duly answered and returned by the respondents. Hence these data were analysed using simple frequencies, percentage and spearman ranking correlation method. Information and communication technology (ICT) can he useful panacea in the overall developmental process aimed at simplifying and hastening the w ay things are done through social media technology. It is applicable at all areas of human development. Research has shown the level of ICT penetrating state secondary school student is grow ing rapidly. Also majority of the senior schools have ICT facilities. But the performance of ICT training to student is negligible. In addition, very few numbers of students are not using ICT facilities in teaching and learning. 'This is identified to be attributed to lack of proper training on how to use the available ICT facilities and constant power supply. It is recommended that proper to training and constant power supply should be provided. Furthermore, constant
/tower supply should he provided to enable student to use ICT facilities any time required.
