THE IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES ON MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS IN NIGERIA (A CASE STUDY OF DELTA STATE TRANSPORT COMPANY, ASABA)
Abstract
This study examines the impact of organizational structure on management effectiveness in Nigeria, using Delta State Transport Company, Asaba, as a case study. The major objective of the study is to assess how organizational structure influences managerial efficiency and overall organizational performance. A sample size of 109 respondents was selected, and three hypotheses were formulated. Data were collected using a self-designed questionnaire and analyzed using simple percentage and level of significance at 0.05.
The findings revealed that organizational structure plays a significant role in enhancing management effectiveness by ensuring proper coordination of duties, clear authority relationships, and efficient communication. The study concludes that for any organization to function effectively, there must be a well-defined structure that supports smooth operations, proper delegation of responsibilities, and financial stability.
