Abstract

This study examines the challenges of using media as a tool for political mobilization of electorates in Warri, Delta State. The media play a crucial role in informing and influencing voters during political processes; however, several obstacles limit their effectiveness. These challenges include misinformation, political bias, limited media access, low media literacy, and government or party interference. The study adopted a survey research design using questionnaires administered to selected residents of Warri. Findings revealed that despite wide media presence, political mobilization is hindered by distrust of media messages and unequal access to credible information. The study concludes that addressing these challenges is essential for effective democratic participation.
