Our work examines the meaning and references of personhoodamong the Igbos we first discussed theories of personhoodinphilosophy inorder to situate the Igbo concept of the samewhereit rightly belongs. We adopted the hermeneutical and textual analysismethods in this study and achieved a proper understandingof theIgboconcept of persoonhood which has to do with originality, uniquenessand authenticity
