Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigated the impact of human capital management practices on organizational productivity among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Remo North Local Government, Ogun State. The specific objectives were to examine the effects of talent acquisition, selection methods, and recruitment channels on organizational productivity. A survey research design was employed, and data were collected from selected SMEs within the study area. The findings revealed that talent acquisition has a significant positive influence on organizational productivity, indicating that effective attraction and retention of talent contribute to improved performance among SMEs. The study also showed that selection methods do not significantly affect organizational productivity, suggesting that the choice of selection techniques may not play a decisive role in productivity outcomes. Conversely, recruitment channels were found to have a significant positive effect on organizational productivity, highlighting the importance of effective recruitment strategies in enhancing workforce quality. The study was limited to SMEs in Remo North Local Government due to time and financial constraints. It concludes that human capital management practices are vital to enhancing organizational productivity, particularly through talent acquisition and recruitment strategies. The study recommends that SMEs strengthen their talent acquisition practices, diversify recruitment channels, and improve capacity in modern human capital management practices to ensure sustainable growth.
