DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF BODY STRESS INDICATOR
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Body Stress Indicator (BSI) is a wearable sensor device that is used to observe and measure the human stress level. It is constructed based on human skin resistance, which changes depending on various conditions. In today’s fast-paced world, chronic stress is common, but the mind and body pay the price. Stress affects us all. People may notice symptoms of stress when disciplining kids, during busy times at work, when managing finances, or when coping with a challenging relationship. Therefore, this study is aimed to design and develop a portable and easy to use Body Stress Indicator (BSI) which can display stress level amongst people. In order to achieve the project objectives, two categories were addressed, hardware and software. The hardware part which covers the assemblage and construction of the physical aspect of the work and the software aspect which deals with the programme (source code) which run the microcontroller. At the end of the project an intelligent system that can indicate and show the various stress level of the body using Atmega 328p was implemented. The Body Stress Indicator is only capable of showing the stress levels as mild, moderate and severe stress. Future researchers may decide to make the display more precise by opting for discrete values rather than the three broad based states of mild, moderate and severe
