APPLICATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECNOLOGY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING ECONOMICS IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ONDO WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, ONDO STATE
Abstract
The study was aimed at determining Application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning economics in Senior Secondary Schools in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State. A total of 125 students and 5 teachers were selected using stratified sampling technique which constituted the sample for the study. Three research questions were stated to guide the study. The data were analyzed using mean. The findings showed among other things that the use of ICT save economics teachers/students time in learning and teaching. However, there are inadequate computers, paucity of qualified ICT teachers and lack of constant electricity supply in schools used for the study. The possible implications of these to effective teaching and learning of business studies using ICT among students in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State were discussed and appropriate recommendations were put forward.
