Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the design and implementation of a smart automatic pill dispenser using the Arduino R4 Minima microcontroller. The system aims to automate the process of dispensing medication and ensure that the user takes it on time. It integrates a real-time clock (DS3231) for scheduling, a servo motor for dispensing pills, an infrared sensor for pill detection, and a GSM module for sending SMS and making calls when a dose is missed. A liquid crystal display (LCD) provides real-time information and alerts, while a buzzer and LED offer local feedback. The system dispenses medication at preset intervals and monitors user interaction to confirm pill retrieval. If the pill is not taken within a specified time, it sends an SMS and places a call to alert the caregiver. This project effectively combines hardware automation with communication features to support medication adherence in a reliable and user-friendly way.
