Abstract

In an era marked by rapid technological advancements and the pervasive use of mobile devices (Smith, 2021), the need for effective and accessible security information is more critical than ever. The proliferation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the increasing prevalence of security threats (Jones, 2019) have raised concerns about the safety of individuals and organizations alike. While mobile devices offer a powerful platform for delivering security information, there remains a significant gap in the availability of comprehensive, real-time, and personalized security advisories. Despite the potential advantages of leveraging mobile technology for security purposes (Brown et al., 2020), existing systems often lack the ability to deliver tailored security recommendations based on user preferences and location. The primary problem that this project seeks to address is the absence of a robust and user-friendly mobile-based security advisory system (Johnson, 2018) that can provide individuals and organizations with real-time security updates and tailored recommendations. Current solutions fall short in terms of their ability to harness geospatial data, machine learning, and data encryption to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and security in delivering security advice. The lack of such a system hampers users' ability to make informed decisions to enhance their safety in response to evolving security threats (Williams, 2017). Additionally, there is limited research evaluating the effectiveness, usability, and impact of such systems on security awareness and preparedness (Davis, 2019). Therefore, this project aims to design and implement a Mobile-Based Security Advisory System to bridge these gaps and contribute to the improved safety of users in our interconnected world.
