ProjectAdeyemi College of Education, Ondo State. (affl To OAU, Ile-Ife) · 2026 · NDN PRJ-992967531770031221THE IMPACT OF AUTOMATON ON LABOUR MARKET IN NIGERIAHenry Oluwatosin Akinrelere · BSc · Economics EducationThis study examines the impact of automaton on labour market in Nigeria with a focus on the educational sector. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study whereby questionnaire was used to collect information from the respondents involved in the study.Simple random sampling technique was used to select one hundred (100) nonacademic and academic staffs across various departments in Adeyemi Federal University of Education,Ondo. The data collected from the respondent was analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics. From the finding of this study, it could be deduced that automation technologies were yet to be adopted for carrying out activities in educational institutions. Also, it was revealed that automation technologies have great impact on employee's productivity if adopted for carrying out activities in educational institutions. This implies that automation can improve data accuracy and accessibility, allowing workers to make more informed decisions and perform their roles more effectively. However, initial investment and ongoing costs associated with implementing automation technologies, institutions lack of technical expertise required to implement and manage automation technologies, complexity in integrating automation technologies with existing systems are some of the factors militating against effective automation in educational institutions. It was therefore recommended that school management should provide training programmes to upskill employees for new roles created by automation. This can help them adapt to new technologies and increase their productivity. Also, employees should be proactive in seeking opportunities to learn new skills and technologies related to automation. This can help you adapt to changing job requirements and remain competitive in the labor market.

ProjectKashim Ibrahim University · 2026 · NDN PRJ-9933612331770031057EFFECT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON CROP PRODUCTIVITY OF GROUNDNUTAisha Muhammad Yusuf · BSc · Biological ScienceABSTRACT
Climate change has emerged as a major threat to agricultural productivity, especially
for rain-fed crops such as groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). This study investigated the
effect of climate change on the growth, development, and yield of groundnut by
examining how variations in temperature, rainfall patterns, and extreme weather events
influence crop performance. The research combined field observations, experimental
cultivation of SAMNUT 24 variety, and a review of recent empirical literature (2023–
2025).
Results showed that excessive rainfall led to waterlogging, impaired root development,
nutrient leaching, and reduced vegetative growth, while drought episodes caused severe
water stress marked by leaf wilting, reduced leaf area, poor peg formation, and low pod
filling. Temperature fluctuations further disrupted flowering and increased flower drop.
These conditions collectively reduced plant height, leaf number, branch formation, and
final yield. The findings align with existing studies indicating that climate variability
negatively correlates with groundnut productivity, particularly in semi-arid regions.
The study concludes that climate change significantly reduces groundnut yield through
its effects on soil moisture imbalance, reproductive inefficiency, and physiological stress.
It recommends the adoption of drought- and flood tolerant varieties, improved water
management, timely planting based on weather forecasts, soil fertility enhancement,
conservation agriculture, and integrated pest management to improve resilience.
communities.

ProjectUniversity of Lagos · 2026 · NDN PRJ-100712131770031041IMPACT OF GOOGLE CLASSROOM ON GIRL’S ACHIEVEMENT, ENGAGEMENT AND RETENTION OF CHEMISRY CONCEPTS IN FEDERAL AND STATE SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN LAGOS STATE.Jemimah Inioluwa Kanmi · BSc · Chemistry EducationThis study investigated the impact of Google Classroom on girls’ achievement, engagement, and retention of chemistry concepts in federal and state secondary schools in Lagos State, Nigeria. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was adopted, involving 150 Senior Secondary School Two (SS2) students drawn from Queens College (federal) and Eva Adelaja Girls’ Secondary School (state). The experimental groups were taught selected chemistry topics using Google Classroom, while the control groups were taught through conventional classroom instruction. Data were collected using a Chemistry Achievement Test (CAT), a Student Engagement Questionnaire (SEQ), and a Chemistry Concept Retention Test (CCRT). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA). The results revealed a significant main effect of teaching method on students’ achievement, engagement, and retention, with the Google Classroom group outperforming the traditional group. However, school type (federal or state) and its interaction with Google Classroom had no significant influence on students’ learning outcomes. The findings suggest that Google Classroom enhances chemistry learning among girls by promoting collaboration, active participation, and conceptual understanding, irrespective of school type. It was recommended that chemistry teachers integrate Google Classroom into regular instruction to improve achievement and engagement, and that educational policymakers provide infrastructure and training to support digital learning in all secondary schools.

ProjectOlabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-1020221931770031026EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT AS A PREDICTOR OF EMPLOYEES PERFORMANCE AMONG CIVIL SERVANTS IN OYO STATE SECRETARIAT.Oluwapelumi Grace Olaibi · BSc · PsychologyThis study examined the predictive influence of emotional intelligence and perceived organizational support on employee performance within the Nigerian public sector, focusing on the Oyo State Secretariat. Specifically, the research investigated how emotional intelligence and perceived organizational support independently and jointly affect employee performance, addressing gaps in existing literature regarding these relationships in bureaucratic settings. A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 250 employees selected through simple random sampling. Validated instruments, including the Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale (BEIS-10), Perceived Organisational Support Survey (POS), and Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ), were used for data collection. Analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and regression analyses. The findings revealed that emotional intelligence did not significantly influence employee performance ( beta = 0.012 t = .187, p > 0.05 R ^ 2 = 0 ) Similarly, perceived organizational support showed no significant effect on performance ( beta = - 0.088 , t = - 1.384 p > 0.05 R ^ 2 = 0.008 ). The joint analysis of both predictors also yielded no significant impact on performance ( R = 0.09 , R ^ 2 = 0.008 F = 1.017 p > 0.05 ) explaining only 0.8% of the variance. These results suggest that in highly bureaucratic environments like the Nigerian public sector, factors such as rigid structures and systemic inefficiencies may overshadow the influence of emotional and organizational support variables. The study underscores the need for holistic organizational reforms that integrate psychological and structural interventions to enhance employee performance. It recommends further research to explore additional contextual factors, such as leadership styles and resource availability, that may mediate these relationships.

ProjectSouthern Delta University, Ozoro · 2026 · NDN PRJ-5050415531770031023AN ECONOMIC IMPLICATION OF PORT PERFORMANCE (A CASE STUDY OF LAGOS PORT, COMPLEX)Rukevwe Ochuko · BSc · Transport & Marine ManagementMost studies on ports and economic development in Nigeria have focused on short-term or intermediate-term effects. Still, there is a need for more research on the long-term impact of ports on economic growth in Nigeria. This could involve analysing the effect of seaports on economic growth over a longer period or examining the long-term impacts of seaport development on the local economy, which current research seeks to address. Thus, the major objective of this study is to investigate the economic implication of port performance in Nigeria. The research design employed in this study is the survey research design. The choice of this design was due to the fact that it enables the research to manipulate variables within a survey context. The data collected was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The findings of this study highlight the role of port efficiency in enhancing the economic development of Nigeria between 2000 and 2020. The very high R² value suggests that port performance improvements are strongly linked to changes in GDP per capita. This supports theories in trade and development economics, where efficient logistics and port management are seen as drivers of trade competitiveness and national income growth. The study found that total revenue from port operations and ship turnaround time had significant effects on Nigeria's GDP per capita. Specifically, total revenue showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with economic growth, indicating that increased port revenue contributes to higher GDP per capita. Conclusively, port revenue performance plays an important and positive role in promoting economic growth. It was recommended that government should prioritize dredging, modernization, and expansion of Nigeria’s inland waterways to enhance navigability and accommodate larger vessels.
